Northwest Missouri Congressman Sam Graves, seeking a sixth term in the U.S. House, coasted to an easy win in the Republican primary on Tuesday.
With all but about 50 precincts reporting in the 6th Congressional District, Mr. Graves had an 83 percent to 17 percent advantage over GOP opponent Christopher Ryan.
Mr. Graves will run against Democrat Clint Hylton in the November general election. Mr. Hylton was unopposed in the primary.
Following his Tuesday win, Mr. Graves said in a statement: "What I am hearing about in the district is that people are upset with trillion dollar deficits and bailouts. People are fed up with the big government solution to every problem. I think there is a tidal wave of anger headed toward Washington."
