In just over 203 days, Missourians will go to the polls to elect a new President, a new Governor, the Missouri General Assembly and their Representative to the United States Congress. Sam Graves continues to assemble the tools necessary to run a strong campaign focused on common sense solutions to our nation’s problems.

To date- Graves for Congress has opened a campaign office in North Kansas City, our website has been re-vamped and re-launched for 2008 at www.gravesforcongress.com and we have motivated and experienced county coordinators in all 26 counties.We also are actively raising the funds necessary to defend the Congressman’s record from the coming attacks. Today, we reported raising $410,076.60 for the first quarter of 2008, giving us a cash-on-hand of $1,132,310.97 as of March 31^st.  For the cycle we have raised $1,574,765.19. That is a staggering total that reflects wide and deep support throughout the district. Unfortunately, we will need to continue to raise money at an unprecedented clip in order to keep up with the money pouring in to our opponent from extreme liberal interests groups like Emily’s List and MoveOn.org.

It is no secret that east coast liberals and Hollywood elites have opened up their wallets and want to buy this Congressional seat. To date, almost ninety percent of our opponents’ money has come from outside of the Sixth Congressional District. After a twenty-year career of steering taxpayer dollars to her wealthy friends, she is now collecting on every favor she is owed. 

However all the money in the world will not be enough to hide her big city values. Her support of amnesty for illegal aliens, partial birth abortion and higher taxes are simply not values shared by most Missourians. This is a race that offers a clear contrast in ideology- bigger government and higher taxes versus less government and lower taxes.  

This campaign will be won by boots on the ground, not by the buckets of money being shipped here from California and New York.
